REDOING OLD ROOFS WITH WECKMAN ROOFING

Check the following points before redoing an old roof with Weckman roofing:
- check the roof fall before choosing the sheet profile design
- check the condition of the old roof´s supporting structures, roof boards and diagonal
measurements
- carry out all necessary repairs
- check the need for roof-covering sheeting
- check if ventilation underneath the roof is sufficient
If the roof boarding is carefully built, it is easy to install new Weckman roof sheeting.

Basic rules for installing Weckman roof sheeting on an old roof:

A. OLD PROFILED SHEET METAL ROOFS 1. Leave the old sheet profiles in place 2. Nail vertical battens, which are of the same height as the profile (min. 32 mm) at the locations of the roof trusses 3. Install new roof boards with the right partitioning for the new sheet profiles 4. Fasten the new sheet profiles onto the roof boards 5. Fasten all fillers and flashings
B. OLD TRIANGLE LATH ROOFS 1. Leave the old triangle batten cladding in place 2. Nail vertical battens, which are at least of the same height as the triangle battens, at the locations of the roof trusses 3. Install new roof boards with the right partitioning for the new sheet profiles 4. Fasten the new sheet profiles onto the roof boards 5. Fasten all fillers and flashings
C. OLD FELT ROOFS WITH EVEN SURFACE 1. Leave the felt-covering in place 2. Nail vertical battens (min. 32 x 50 mm) at the locations of the roof trusses 3. Install new roof boards with the right partitioning for the new sheet profiles 4. Fasten the new sheet profiles onto the roof boards 5. Fasten all fillers and flashings
D. OLD ASBESTOS SHEET ROOFS 1. Take off the old cladding with its battening. Install an underlayer if there is none. 2. Nail vertical laths (min. 32 x 50 mm) at the locations of the roof trusses 3. Install new roof boards with the right partitioning for the new sheet profiles 4. Fasten the new sheet profiles onto the roof boards 5. Fasten all fillers and flashings
E. OLD TILE ROOFS 1. Take off the old cladding with its battening. Install an underlayer if there is none 2. Nail vertical battens (min. 32 x 50 mm) at the locations of the roof trusses 3. Install new roof boards with the right partitioning for the new sheet profiles 4. Fasten the new sheet profiles onto the roof boards 5. Fasten all fillers and flashings
F. OLD ROOFS WITH SHEET METAL CLADDING WITH FOLDED SEAMS 1. Leave the old cladding in place 2. Nail vertical battens, which are at least of the same height as the seam folds (min. 32 mm) at the locations of the roof trusses 3. Install new roof boards with the right partitioning for the new sheet profiles 4. Fasten the new sheet profiles onto the roof boards 5. Fasten all fillers and flashings
