Concrete progress has been achieved particularly in environmental responsibility.

This is what we are already known for, and the next step is to offer the same quality products in a more environmentally friendly way, even fossil-free. Fossil-Free Steel Roofing and Other Environmental Actions
In its sustainability goals, Weckman Steel strives to consider the entire life cycle of a product from its manufacturing process to the end of its service life. For 20 years, the company has chosen responsible bioenergy alternatives, such as hydro and solar power, for its energy solutions and made changes to various stages of the production process, for example by switching raw materials to more environmentally friendly ones. The solar power plant enables the production of Progantti standing seam panels using solar energy during the summer. Through various measures, purchased electricity consumption has been reduced annually by approx. 12 %.
At this year’s Housing Fair in Oulu, visitors can admire Weckman Progantti roofing made from fossil-free Zero steel at the Hietasaaren Huvi property in the Hartaanselkä district.
Investments for Efficiency and Environmental Friendliness
Weckman Steel’s financial stability has enabled product development and investments in production. The manufacturing of the tractor trailer range is now more efficient and environmentally friendly than before: 40% fewer steel parts means a smaller carbon footprint, and a lighter trailer means savings in fuel costs.
Profitable business operations build trust among customers, stakeholders, and partners. Thanks to its stability, Weckman Steel has also been able to develop working conditions and offer career opportunities to its personnel.
Finnish Origin and Family Entrepreneurship as the Foundation of Social Responsibility
We are proud that many of our employees have had long careers at Weckman. The expertise and skills of experienced employees are seen in the family business as a factor that strengthens the organization and enables development.
The core of our partner network consists of over 40 roofing partner companies that complete over 4,000 roof renovations annually throughout Finland. The network of partners built during the company’s over 60-year history is counted in the hundreds.
