Weckman Steel’s steel building range has been renewed. The standard building range includes the most popular insulated buildings, uninsulated buildings, and canopies, but now they are more environmentally friendly and available for faster delivery.
The standard steel building models are familiar Weckman quality suited to Finnish conditions. We have made the building elements modular, making them easily and quickly available directly from stock. The truss structure has replaced the previous box beam structure.
After delivery to the site, the prefabricated building can also be erected faster, as the building components and other technical details have been standardized. This also makes expanding the buildings or changing their purpose smoother than before.
Prefabricated Building Suitable for Various Purposes
Our most popular building type, the uninsulated building, also known as a cold building, is suitable for use as a machinery building or warehouse building, for example. The thermally insulated building is suitable for many different uses, such as production facilities, multipurpose buildings, workshop facilities, or riding arenas.
In the new standard building range, the clear interior height has been increased to at least 4.5 meters, and the 6-meter frame spacing allows large doors to be placed on the long sides as well, enabling the building to be used for even more versatile purposes. The higher space can better accommodate a forestry machine or loading crane, for example.
Prefabricated Building Uses Less Steel, Same Durability
The new standard building elements use less steel than before. This has been achieved by optimizing structures and utilizing recycled raw materials that still meet all load-bearing requirements. Less material also means a smaller carbon footprint.
More Environmentally Friendly Manufacturing Process
The reusability of steel structures and steel’s 100 percent recyclability are important factors in the material’s environmental friendliness. We strive to find the best solutions for our products that minimize or completely eliminate harmful environmental impacts throughout the product’s entire lifecycle. At the end of the lifecycle, the reusability of steel structures reduces construction waste and promotes the circular economy.
To achieve the sustainability targets we have set for 2026, in addition to material choices, we have developed the steel building production process to be more environmentally friendly. In addition to energy efficiency, excess paint used for finishing element surfaces can be reused, and painting also produces fewer VOC emissions.
