Weckman Steel has expanded the availability of environmental information for its products by publishing new EPD environmental product declarations verified by Rakennustieto. An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) is an environmental declaration based on a life cycle assessment (LCA), which presents the environmental impacts of a product throughout its entire life cycle. Rakennustieto’s EPD environmental product declarations are verified by a third party, which ensures the reliability, transparency, and comparability of the data.
EPD declarations provide developers, designers, and contractors with reliable information on the environmental impacts of products and support the assessment of the carbon footprint and other environmental impacts of buildings. Weckman Steel has previously emphasized the importance of responsibility and the reduction of environmental load by providing verified environmental information about its products. Below, you can explore Weckman’s new EPD reports by clicking the blue text link.

The published EPD declarations support the assessment of the environmental impacts of construction projects and provide a consistent, standardized way to compare the environmental data of products. Rakennustieto’s EPD declarations are presented in accordance with the EN 15804 standard, which enables their use in building-level carbon footprint and environmental impact calculations.
More information about EPD environmental product declarations can be found in the Rakennustieto EPD program, where an EPD is defined as an independently verified environmental declaration describing the environmental impacts of a product’s life cycle.
